An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
We covered SUSE in December 2018 and May 2021 and Kubernetes management provider Rancher in May 2019. SUSE completed its acquisition of Rancher in December 2020 and its acquisition of full lifecycle container security vendor NeuVector in October 2021. We last covered NeuVector in March 2019.
With the addition of NeuVector, SUSE continues its shift to becoming a broad-based cloud native technology provider without abandoning its roots as a Linux vendor.
SUSE is now in the process of open sourcing the NeuVector codebase in keeping with its long-standing open-source strategy.
As part of this process, SUSE is opening up NeuVector, not only for improved integration with Rancher, but also with competing management products and the greater Kubernetes ecosystem.
Among the new features SUSE is adding to NeuVector is zero configuration drift protection for containers with simplified automation that supports the discovery, monitoring, and protection of Kubernetes configurations.
